Inner Healing Prayer

The spiritual inner healing prayer is one of our more advanced faith services. It’s also one of the most impactful for people. There are many references to the devil or the enemy in scripture:

“We know that we are children of God and the world around us is under control of the evil one.” (1 John 5:19)
“Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.” (1 Peter 5:8)
“The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.” (John 10:10, spoken by Jesus)

Spiritual warfare is real.

Whether we have crossed a line and sinned, or someone has betrayed us in some way, it could “give the devil a chance,” “an opportunity,” or “foothold.” (Ephesians 4:27) The healing prayer session is a surprisingly matter-of-fact, cleansing process. We’ll walk through your life, pray through the rough parts and leave them spiritually, at the cross of Jesus.

Let it go!

We’re not meant to be weary and carry such heavy burdens in this life. This is especially true for things that build up over time, like guilt and shame and resentment. Listen to Jesus’ words, from the more contemporary Message Bible translation of Matthew 11:28-30:

“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me.
Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest.
Walk with me and work with me – watch how I do it.
Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you.
Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”
