The MAP for Healing & Recovery Program FAQs

For other questions and to register for the program, contact Edward Livesay at (937) 490-9605 or edward@www.mission-addiction.org.

Is this program only for people impacted by addiction?
No. As with all MA events and services, it is open to everyone. Several people have remarked that this is a great program for anyone looking for healing, restoration and transformed lives – and we agree! We feel it is perfect for those learning and growing in their faith or who want to share faith with others. It can also serve as Christian marriage coaching or pre-marital coaching for couples who are trying to communicate and work better together. Teenagers looking for college prep, life skills or life prep and high risk youth would benefit as well.

Do you take insurance?
No. Because we are a nonprofit organization and not a government or state agency, we cannot accept any private insurance or Medicaid.

Is this a 12-step program?
No. However, our topics, tools, and services match up to the 12-steps and our program follows a similar order. We feel our program goes much deeper emotionally, relationally, and spiritually than a typical 12-step experience.

Do I have to sign up for all 50 topics?
No, but everyone has, so far. At orientation, we’ll review the entire curriculum and you’ll choose what best suits you and your loved ones on your journey. If there’s a session you feel like you’ve mastered or covered elsewhere, feel free to skip it. We want our sessions to be as productive as possible for you.

Does this program include an assessment?
Yes, an informal, brief assessment takes place as part of your first coaching session. We use it to measure your progress in various ways.

How long does the coaching and mentoring last?
Our coaching and mentoring service is available to you throughout the program. If you wish to continue coaching afterward, our coaches will still be available to you.

Do I have to use a Mission Addiction coach if I already have one that I like?
No. We understand how important the right provider can be and will discuss that briefly at orientation. If you already have a good relationship with someone, that’s great! However, our coaching and mentoring helps emphasize and master the materials from the class sessions, so you can “go deeper” as appropriate.

Can my loved ones join me during this program?
Yes! That’s the idea. In fact, bring them to orientation if possible! They can participate in as many topics as you want, to learn and heal together. They can also take advantage of our coachingand mentoring and other services separately or together with you. We’ll discuss discounted family rates at orientation.
